#SouthseaGhetto Exhibition at The Tea Tray

We are excited to share with you a nice project by a trio of the city’s best photographers Andrew Malbon, Grzegorz Kopacz and Howard Hurd. The group will be holding an exhibition at The Tea Tray titled #SouthseaGhetto which will be available to view from this Saturday.

Andrew explains that “We’ve assembled about twenty images of the local street art scene, either works in progress (with the artists discretely in shot) or images that illustrate some of the impact & interaction of the city with the work.” All the images have been printed directly on aluminium di-bond which gives an impression that they are painted on with a spray can & allows the images to be handled much more than a photographic print would.

The images are taken with a variety of equipment & using different techniques. Andrew has favoured his Leica gear, Howard uses his vintage lenses on a Sony body and Grzegorz exclusively uses a mobile phone (to great effect I’m told). Also included are a pair of local photographers Dax & Eleanor Matthews.

We are unable to tease you with images of that are to be included as they are being kept tightly under wraps until the launch this weekend.

I would also strongly encourage you to pay Tea Tray a visit for a spot of food as they do some awesome sandwiches. You can check out what you are missing over on their Instagram page @TheTeaTray.
