Southampton is excited to welcome back the popular two day festival Common People on the bank holiday weekend of 28th and 29th May 2016.
The festival features a huge line-up including this year’s hottest come-back and multi-platinum selling artist, Craig David, as the Saturday night headliner, alongside one of the biggest acts of the 80s, Duran Duran who will be headlining the Sunday.
While Craig David may be well known for his early 2000s’ hits like ‘Fill Me In’ and ‘7 Days’, since relocating to Miami he’s gone back to his roots and made a name for himself as a DJ and party starter with his TS5 radio shows and club nights. With a winning combo of old school anthems, R&B, garage and Craig’s unique vocal talent, TS5 is one of the most exciting party experiences in the world right now, and it’s coming to Common People.
Formed in 1978, after a couple of line-up changes, Duran Duran exploded from the local Birmingham club scene to become the hottest new band around. The last few years have seen the band bring in Mark Ronson on production duties, which resulted in the release of the brilliant ‘All You Need is Now’, incredibly their thirteenth studio album, and for sure one of their best. These kings of pop are bringing their classic hits along with some of their latest tracks to the Common People party and we can’t wait.
With other highlights including Primal Scream, Katy B, Public Enemy, Jamie Lawson, Gaz Coombes, Mr Motivator and The Magic Gang, you can expect a huge variety of musical genres and there really is something for everyone.
Alongside the epic line-up, Common People is a family-friendly festival, with lots of other activities to get involved with. From scrumptious street food, to a knitting area and bouncy castles, there’s a lot going on! With day tickets starting from £27.50, it’s a huge bang for your buck. Tickets are on sale now at www.southampton.commonpeople.net. With less than 30 days to go – don’t miss out!
