PORTSMOUTH & SOUTHSEA'S No.1 for ARTS, CULTURE & LIFESTYLE

Contemporary Makers Fair‏

For the first time, Aspex will be giving over the main exhibition space in the gallery to the inaugural Contemporary Makers Fair this weekend. This is a professional development opportunity for local and regional artists and designer makers, where they will be able to exhibit and sell their work from 11-5 each day.

A wide range of stallholders have been selected by the Aspex team to showcase some of the very best contemporary craft in the region, including jewellery, ceramics, printmaking, glass, textiles and furniture. Curator for Crafts, Letty Clarke said: “Supporting contemporary craft is a one of our main objectives here at Aspex. There is a wealth of talent locally and being able to use the main space to let artists and designer makers exhibit, sell and interact with our visitors is a great opportunity”.

Aspex’s Participation Team are also planning a range of workshops for children and adults throughout the weekend for those looking for some creative inspiration. It’s also a great opportunity to catch Creating Balance in Café Bar…and redeem your Yellow Tokens!
