So it is that time again, we’re approaching one of the most exciting days in the local music calendar, Southsea Fest which is one of the U.K’s best new music festivals championing the best new talent in music. We at Strong Island Recordings are, just like last year, going to be profiling all of the acts playing our 1st birthday smash at the ‘Drunken Sailor’ stage upstairs at The Southsea Social Club on the 14th September.  We kick start with local favourites, The Demons…

Just like last year if you’re going to be diving in and getting seriously involved at midday you need something heavy to kick things off so we again called on Portsmouth’s own, You’re Smiling Now But We’ll All Turn Into Demons. Sadly though we have heard small rumours that the cult psychedelic space rock outfit are nearing their final days. We’re not sure if this is true and hopefully not but either way we are going to embrace their teeth shattering primal fuzz to the fullest.

With a sound reminiscent to Bo Ningen, The Demons are the Red Bull in your corn flakes and a hard slap in the face from your alarm clock. Last year The Demons set things off and we had queues of one-in-one-out formed from the get go as the sweat dripped from the walls and punters frothing at the mouths to get their fuzz fix for the day. You can catch The Demons play at 12pm upstairs at the Social Club on the 14th September at Southsea Fest.
