Strong Island are really excited announce the final Portsmouth Road To Blissfields line up. The five locally based acts are competing to win the opportunity to play at Blissfields festival this summer. The winner WILL be decided on the night by a panel so make sure you come and support your favourite act!

The event is FREE and there will even be tickets to Bestival available to win during the show.

The competing acts are Fine Lines, Is Bliss, Jerry Williams, Lucifers Gold and The Silhouettes. Keep an eye out here on Strong Island as we will be showcasing the acts in more detail in the ten days running up to the event.

As soon as the winner has been announced and all our ticket, film & camping prizes have been given out, we’ll be having a Soundtracks themed after party in The Wedgewood Rooms. It’s free to all. Playing everything from Jungle Book to Django, will be DJs Spikey Mark (It’s A Sin/ClubNME) and Will Chump (Delight/Waster), both of whom will be found DJing at Blissfields this July.

Blissfields itself has announced the first wave of acts performing, headliners include regular visitor the Portsmouth and Southsea venues Bastille. The album Bad Blood has just gone in at number two in the charts only being beaten by Justin Timberlake. I’ve been listening to the album a lot over the past few weeks and it will surely be up there this December when we talk of the best albums of 2013.

Other DJ’s and acts confirmed include Mystery Jets, Friends, Matt Corby, Post War Years, Public Service Broadcasting, The Staves, Dub Pistols, Marika Hackman, Beans On Toast, Subgiant, Zion Train and local bands Belligerence, BellyEyeSmile and Kassassin Street.
