90/91 I think – my brother and I were photographed in rubber rings in the promo leaflet for the Sidewinder opening because our dad ran entertainment & leisure services at PCC. And we met Timmy Mallet. Pretty exciting when you’re 7.
I remember those posters, they were put up on billboards and those old cylindrical advert holders they had in Palmerston Rd precinct. There was another one which had Mallet saying “Come down to the Pyramids, it’s a happening place”. I remember laughing at the “down with the kids” phraseology of the time in that one.
