Do you have a creative practice? Would you be willing to come and do a show and tell to local children? If the answer is yes then the education department at Aspex would love to hear from you! Your practice can be anything from Graphic Design to Photography, Film Making, Crafting and many more. You have to be available between 11-3pm on either the 23rd/24th July and able to give a short talk about how, why and what you do. Its also helpful to bring work with you but we have a projector you can use with a laptop to show work on also.

I have worked in education and participation now for two years with arts charity Aspex Gallery and have first hand experience of how valuable it is for children and young people to meet artists. It reinforces that creativity is a vital part of life and culture and these experiences are a fantastic antidote to mainstream education which undermines creativity in favour of academia.
