Another local venue on the Hampshire Open Studios trail this year is Making Space, a unique craft based organisation based just outside of Havant. It is mainly known for the wide variety of craft workshops it runs for adults, kids and families but as part of Hampshire Open Studios it will be opening its doors to the public on Sunday 21st, Monday 22nd and Wednesday 24th of August from 11am-5pm each day. This is a great chance to see the other side of what Making Space does. Across the courtyard, and as well as the 2 teaching spaces, Making Space also has 7 studios, which are rented by a range of professional creative’s. Disciplines include Jewellery, Fashion, Illustration, Glass, Ceramic, Photography and Digital Media. Hampshire Open studios presents the perfect opportunity to chat to the resident makers as they work in their studios. All of the makers will also be selling work so don’t miss out on the chance to buy or commission a unique piece of handmade art or craft.
Making Space Open Studios is a free event and more information can be found on the website at www.makingspace.org.
