‘Charles O’Brien, Series Editor of the famous Pevsner guides to England’s architecture, will be The Portsmouth Society’s speaker at their next monthly meeting to be held at 7pm at the Square Tower in Broad Street, Old Portsmouth (free parking) on WEDNESDAY 2nd  FEBRUARY.   Charles has been closely involved in the recently-published North Hampshire and Isle of Wight Pevsner volumes and is currently co-ordinating fieldwork and text contributions for the forthcoming Portsmouth and South Hampshire volume. This will be a rare opportunity to hear how Britain’s most ambitious and complex architectural publishing  project is being successfully brought to fruition.   Copies of the first two volumes will be available for inspection and purchase on the evening.

There is no charge for this event and all are welcome.  Please note that this meeting is not at our usual venue and that the presentation previously advertised for this date has had to be postponed until the Autumn.’ The Portsmouth Society
