Horseflies New Single ‘Fist’

Psyche-punk band Horseflies have returned with new material just a few months on from last year’s critically acclaimed sophomore album ‘Sea Control’. ‘Fist’ is the first track of five to be released from the Portmsouth band’s ‘Lucidity’ EP over the next few weeks. With an immediately raw, driving guitar line, ‘Fist’ was recorded with Tim Greaves at Southsea Sound and sees the band lose some of the agression and tonal diffraction of their earlier records in favour of a more consistently melodic approach. Touch points include Fugazi, Bob Mould and The Descendents.

The band’s live show has been gathering a favourable reputation with their visceral and dynamic sets being witnessed up and down the country. Having played last weekend’s Icebreaker festival, the band head out on the road for a series of gigs over the next couple of months. They play the Wedgewood Rooms on February 16th as part of the annual Valentine’s Massacre show before playing the Washed Out Festival in Brighton on April 13th. Expect more dates to follow and keep up to date by following the band’s facebook page
