Everyone seemed to know the score
your work mates were a bore
and your head, is so sore

and now that England’s fallen away
3rd place play off to play
I’m just full of dismay

But I’m still proud of

Sterling was so scary
a few more years of hurt
we won’t all feel as wary

Talk about refs that hate your guts
and all the ifs and buts
easy route, it still cuts

and in the cold harsh light of the day
we can say that we played
it just wasn’t our day
