Sorry it is a little last minute but highly respected local artist John Mynott will soon be leaving his studio at Art Space Portsmouth and will be holding a retrospective exhibition of his work that has a preview this evening from 6-8pm. The work will be for auction and non-framed/mounted work also for sale in his studio too so this is a great opportunity to own a piece of his work.

A member of the artists’ studio group Art Space Portsmouth since 1981, Mynott has continued to examine and research his themes of geometry, space and colour. Trained initially in architecture and in fine art, later teaching in the technical illustration department at Portsmouth College of Art, his work reflects his thorough, detailed and subversive analysis on paper, card and canvas, examining the unpredictable “as a foil to the certainties of geometry”. You may have seen a selection of John Mynott’s work at his successful exhibition at Aspex about a year ago.
