Cath Birch, The landlady of the Phoenix pub in Duncan Road, has won 1st Place in the Pubs in Bloom 2013 competition set up by Enterprise Inns. The pub was highly commended for their entry as the standards of entrants this year was incredibly high. Cath asked local photographer Diana Goss to help her win by taking the photos that were submitted to the competition. The first prize is for £1,000 which will go directly in to making the pub even better for customers.
