Blissfields 2013 Preview #4 Luke Ferre

Blissfields Festival begins on 4th June at Vicarage Farm in Winchester. Portsmouth will be well represented at the festival with an eclectic mix of artists performing over the three days. In the build up to the festival we will be showcasing those artists involved.

The next artist we’d like to tell you about is Luke Ferre. When asked about his influences Luke says he is a “massive fan of Jenny Owen Youngs, so she’s quite a big influence on me at the moment. Any time I’m listening to music with friends I try to sneak her into the playlist. It’s obvious once you hear Luke’s music that he’s been influence by artists like John Mayer, Nizlopi and Mumford & Sons.

This isn’t the first time Luke has been approached to play Blissfields, last year he played on the Hidden Hedge Stage to a less than packed audience, due to his set clashing with a little known band called Bastille. However, Luke is still excited to be back and lets face it, where are Bastille now? This year you’ll be able to catch Luke on the Acoustic Stage on the thursday evening and again on saturday afternoon.

This year Luke will also be playing at Penn Fest in Buckinghamshire, Founders Fest in Haslemere, Purbeck Folk Festival and The Southsea Show, as well as a few others which are yet to be announced. After a hectic summer Luke has also vowed to lock himself away to write and record a new EP.

If you’d like to stay in touch and find out about new releases the you can follow Luke via his website lukeferre.com and the usual social media sites, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, SoundCloud and Tumblr.

If you like what you’ve hear then you can download Luke’s EP on iTunes.
