Retrospective Soundtrack Players – New Album

Southsea’s very own The Retrospective Soundtrack Players, have been busy boys recently. They create new soundtracks to their favourite cult films and books, and on 15th October 2012 they will release their new album, ‘The Catcher in the Rye’ through Xtra Mile Recordings (Frank Turner, Against Me!, Future of the Left).

Based entirely around J.D Salinger’s classic tale of youth angst, the album showcases a high energy punk rock sound reminiscent of Weezer, The Gaslight Anthem and The Weakerthans.

The band formed in late 2010 and released a split 7” with Frank Turner which saw their songs featured on BBC Radio 1 & 2, 6 Music and XFM before they had played a gig.

The title track for ‘the Catcher in the Rye’ has already featured on Soccer AM, Frank Skinner’s Absolute radio show and NME radio.  The boys are touring the album throughout the winter and into 2013. Make sure you go and check them out.

Keep up to date with the guys at their website, Twitter or Facebook
