PORTSMOUTH & SOUTHSEA'S No.1 for ARTS, CULTURE & LIFESTYLE

Thrill the World Portsmouth

If you haven’t already heard, Portsmouth Historic Dockyard will be the venue this Saturday for a world record breaking attempt for Michael Jackson’s Thriller Dance.

Thrill the World is an annual, worldwide and simultaneous dance of Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller’. It is now in its sixth year and is an official World record event.

Every year, people from all across the globe gather to dance the ‘Thriller’ at the same time across global time zones to unite communities and to raise awareness and funds for charities.

Since 2006, funky zombies have gathered to perform the routine to honour one of the world’s greatest entertainers- Michael Jackson.

Thrill the World is organised by a global team of volunteers who are committed to celebrating music and togetherness, and is a living testimony of the legacy Michael has left.

You don’t have to be a professional dancer to take part in Thrill the World; they believe any zombie from any background can join in and give something back to their community. It’s completely free to take part and you can learn the routine online, or from dance classes provided..

They arrive in Port Arena (alongside HMS Victory) at 1pm and the final performance will take place at 3pm. For more information head over to www.thrilltheworldportsmouth.co.uk
