NME are running a competition to find Britain’s best small venue, the grass-roots pubs and clubs that are the beating heart of this country’s music scene.  Right here in Portsmouth we have in my opinion one of the best, The Wedgewood Rooms.

I spent a few years touring the country as crew for a band and have seen many small venues, some of which are very unique and full of character in their own right.  But putting my Portsmouth bias aside, the Wedge truly is one of the best.  Always known on the circuit for many years as being one of the best too by artists and crew alike.
