Coming out of Southsea via a childhood in Northampton and young adulthood in Manchester & London is friend of Pet Sounds, Diamondback Kid. After years engineering, mixing, touring, remixing, writing and living, Diamondback finally decided to knuckle down and return to where his musical life began, electro. Taking his cue from the classic Street Sounds compilations of the early 80s onward, he soaked up everything there was on offer whilst growing up. Going on from that, he immersed himself in Hip-Hop throughout the nineties, claiming it all went wrong before that decade was out. After a few years in the wilderness, things are starting to make sense, the creative juices are flowing and his first EP ‘Electro Superstar’ has just been released by Juno online, hitting the top 5 bestselling electro releases of the week as this goes to press.

With regular plays on internet based electro radio stations and a touted live DJ set in the pipeline, things are looking good. To mark this release, Diamondback was kind enough to put together a beginners guide to Electro, both old and new.
